Help India ravaged by COVID

My name is Bhavna, I am an Indian Australian currently based in Sydney. I am very lucky to be in a country that has almost managed to control the COVID pandemic that had plagued this world.
However, the country of my birth, India had been swept by the dreaded second wave of COVID which has destroyed lives, livelihoods and has impacted everyone and everything in its fold.
With friends and family back home being directly and indirectly affected by this pandemic, I cannot help but feel worried, anxious and stressed about the situation back home. Every single day I watch in horror as my timeline is filled with people asking for help to find hospital beds, oxygen and food.
So instead of being helpless, I have decided to start this fundraiser to support some local Indian charities that are on the ground in India helping people.
As these charities are registered in India I am collecting money that can be shared amongst the ones that I know are have a greater impact.
Hemkunt Foundation - Providing Oxygen Relief
Feeding from far - An initiative that has been feeding the poor and unemployed who are struggling to feed themselves during the lockdown.
Khaana Chahiye - Providing meals & meal kits to the homeless and migrant workers who have lost their livelihood and can no longer fend for themselves.
How will this money be transferred/Shared - Since these are grassroots organizations working in India, they don't have the option to do an international transfer or have paypal accounts. They are requesting that money be transferred in their accounts in India. In this time of crisis, it is very difficult for them to spend time doing admin to get international donations sorted.
So to save time and additional stress, the money would be transferred to our AUS account and then transferred to our account in India (We are NRI citizens so have Indian bank accounts) from where it will be divided and distributed between these 3 organisations.
For the sake of transparency, I will share the converted amount (AUS to INR depending on the currency calculator) and receipts of the contribution made to these organisations to everyone who has donated and also on all our social media channels.
I am hoping that the Aussie spirit will rise to the occasion to support India and Indians who need all the help they can get at the moment.
