Help Improve Anioma

Greetings!
My name is Anwuli Onyejose, President of the Anioma Youth and Young Adults Forum, and I have started this campaign on behalf of our organization. Our organization, a branch of the Anioma Association USA, exists to bring together the Anioma people of Delta State, Nigeria for the advancement of our culture and development of the place we call home.
Over the past two decades, the economy, morality, and overall integrity of the nation of Nigeria have declined rapidly. Delta State, where Anioma people are predominately located, has been disproportionally impacted by its leadership. Delta State faces issues of poor healthcare, poor educational system, nonexistent security/emergency personnel, and degraded infrastructure of many buildings across the land.
Last year, approximately 80 Anioma Youths were able to gather in Atlanta, GA to discuss how this organization can grow to create more awareness and make an impact at the same time. We want to make changes that will benefit the lives of many under-privileged youths and young adults back home so that they too can succeed. Together, we were able to brainstorm ideas that we believe will help children/young adults just like us.
The first change we want to make is in the school system. Many children in Delta State, including Anioma, do not have the means to purchase text books, school supplies, or even attend classes. The second change we want to create deals with feminine hygiene. Many young girls in Delta State, including Anioma, can miss 5-7 days of school as they do not have the means to obtain feminine products during their menstrual cycles. These dilemmas gave us the idea to create this GoFundMe as a means of raising funds for the overall success of the initiatives listed above.
In July 2018, we plan to hold our Second Annual Anioma Youth and Young Adults Forum in Chicago, IL to make these initiatives a reality. While in Chicago, we hope to kickoff our goals by having a School Supply and Feminine Hygiene Product Drive to collect as much material as possible that can be sent home right away. We will also plan bigger projects that will help the Anioma community (such as providing monies for medical supplies or repairs for unstable houses). It is our hope that this GoFundMe raises money for our above causes, offsets costs of the convention in July, and contributes to future projects that will only serve to better Anioma as a whole.
We cannot thank you enough for your generous donations and overall support. All funds are being overseen by the National Anioma Association Treasure, Mr. Okafor. You are helping to make our state, and our country, a better place to be again.
