Help Ify become a NYU Tisch-trained filmmaker

Hello, 

My name is Ifeyinwa Arinze, and I am a neuroscientist-turned-filmmaker. I am raising money for my second year of graduate school at one of the most prestigious film schools in the world: New York University Tisch School of the Arts.

In my first year as an MFA candidate at NYU, I directed four short films: a short documentary about a Black doula in Brooklyn and the support she provides Black pregnant women (link ), a short (directed through Zoom) about a working class Black mother in isolation with her young son (link ), a short film about a young girl’s relationship with her grandmother (link ), and a 16mm short film about two Black women whose lives become intertwined at a restaurant (link ).

I currently have a merit scholarship from my department that covers fifty percent of my tuition. However, I need to raise $50,000 to cover the rest of my tuition, as well as living expenses in New York. Unfortunately, my family circumstances and current immigration status mean common avenues for assistance are closed to me. 

Filmmaking is my passion, and with a year of school under my belt, I have been fortunate to learn so much. I have developed a network of collaborators, refined my artistic purpose, and created a slim body of promising work. In another year, I will be an even stronger, more skilled and more thoughtful filmmaker.
