Firstly I’d like to say I never planned on setting up this page, but so many people have asked how they can contribute to the trip that I’ve gave into the idea.
At present I am phoneless, I have just been pick pocketed at the Dakar rally in very crowded area, I realised within seconds but could not identify or locate the asshole that did so, I tried quickly logging into ‘find my iPhone’but they switched it off!! It’s one of the most critical pieces of tech I have, it’s my navigation, time, my only social media device. Key to using my drone and all other cameras.
It’s a disaster, as I’m trying to follow the Dakar Rally tomorrow to very remote areas!
So maybe if you’re a keen follower and want to see the Dakar from my perspective maybe you can spare a few dollars and get me back in action!
So I’m from Ireland and on a Round the World trip on my 20 year old Motorcyle Bessy. We’re inseparable these days..(not by choice)
My way of giving back to everyone is to show everyday events through my Instagram story, and Facebook page ROO RIDES EAST, coming to you almost every day in an almost live manner, there will be no filters here, the good, the bad the ugly, I’m not afraid to show you what life is like on an endeavour like this! You'll see the crashes, the amazing sights and scenery, the bad days, the people, and everything in between, Also I will be posting a lot of photos on my Facebook page Roo Rides East. Right now I’m in Mexico, 4 months in and 35,000km deep into a 100,000 + km trip.On my route I have crossed the whole width of Canada, crossed the artic circle, swam in the Arctic Ocean and meandered my way south to Mexico. Next up is the dodgy part of Central America and a goal of getting to Ushuaia in Argentina by late February 2019. Then up to Brazil and accross to South Africa before attempting the final leg Home to Ireland.
I won’t lie, my budget is very tight, already I’ve shaven a couple of months off the trip financially. In the last 4 months I’ve only spent 4 nights in paid accommodation. Mainly due to my budget But it makes things more interesting I can assure you of that.
So what can you donate!?
Whatever you so please. It could be a fill of petrol? a meal? A cheap hotel? The average price in this area is $16 or just a coffee? Thats a lie, it would be a beer in my case, I never took to the coffee but it’s never too early for a beer! Or maybe you can sponsor me for my phone service as I jump between countries? These are my thought, Feel free to comment and give feed back.
