Help child trafficking survivor

Donation protected
Hello,I feel very fortunate to be here, to be alive, and able to write this and talk to you today. For the first 18 years of my life I was abused by family members. I survived child trafficking and severe injuries. It began when I was very young. I remember being sent to the ER from my elementary school and just being sent home again with abusers despite serious injuries. I stopped trusting anyone, because no one seemed to care about me. I learned to take care of myself and survive.Eventually, I learned to trust again. I saw there were kind people in the world, and have made good friends. I try to see the good in the world in spite of the darkness. There were additional bad things that happened after I left my home of origin. It’s a long painful story. I still have physical limitations from the abuse, the torture and beatings, and  worse things. I have nightmares and trouble sleeping, pretty much every night. Every morning my first words are to give thanks that I am alive, and that my cat Setzer is here at my side. She is a rescue and knows what it’s like to have to survive. She wakes me up when the nightmares get too bad, petting my face with her paw and purring until I feel better. She takes good care of me. I have been working every day to make my life everything I dreamed of when I was alone, afraid, and trying to stay alive. I knew someday I would make it to this point. And here I am, going to college, working on my dream degree to become a physicist. I have had to take time off for surgeries, during a 4 year period I had 8 of them. I’ve been under anesthesia over 30 times in my life. But I kept working on my dreams, even if it was a bit at a time. I get myself to class even when I had a rough night and have been keeping my grades up. I made Phi Theta Kappa honor society and part of my memoir was published in their anthology this year. There are many days I wake up feeling pretty bad, but I still show up and do the best I can. I am trying to raise money to help pay for living expenses, healthcare (including continuing therapy), and school expenses. If I could eventually get enough to put towards a safer place to live, that would be good too! I am a survivor. But even though I try to be self sufficient and tenacious, none of us is an island unto ourselves. So I am sharing this story (believe me it was not easy to write this), in hopes of inspiring others to follow their dreams.  Also, to ask friends and anyone who might be called to assist me for help. I have limited strength right now and am not able to work yet, school is still part time.I know your money is hard earned and I am so grateful for any donations to this fund. Thank you again for taking the time to read my story. I would really appreciate it if you could pass this on to others who might be able to help. Please share on Facebook, Twitter, or any other way you can. Thank you for any donation you can make to help me continue on my road of healing, education, and self-sufficiency. Sincerely, Kristina (and Setzer the cat)
