<div>I have recently received devastating news about my pit bull Horus. He has been diagnosed with what is known as a “splenic tumor.” This tumor has grown so much so, that it has now wrapped around his spleen. As per his veterinarian, he will need surgery to remove both spleen and tumor, so that the tumor does not rupture and cause internal bleeding which will be fatal for Horus. Although he is uncomfortable, I am told he is not necessarily in excruciating pain, but must undergo this necessary procedure in order for him to continue a life he so well deserves.

<div>This disease has caused drastic and excessive weight loss and has prevented him from getting the necessary nutrition to sustain and maintain a healthy weight. Unfortunately, it does not stop there. Due to Horus’ allergies, he has been on medication for years to alleviate the severity of his symptoms. I have tried various natural remedies, but like the tumor, his allergies are aggressive and to see him suffer is unbearable. The care that my family and I have taken for Horus has always been that of pure intention; to provide him with any means necessary so that he can have a long lasting life with minimal discomfort.

<div>We would be a miss to say that we do not selfishly want to have more time with him. His sensitivity and loyalty will always be what we have truly cherished about him. He really is the sweetest and kindest dog. With that being said, he has always been loved by anyone he comes in contact with. His big heart and soft soul is why he was crowned mascot of the band Shoot Da 5 and is proudly displayed on the band’s merch.
