Thrown from a car while the family in the car laughed, shot three times with a BB gun, senior dog Hope, was found collapsed on the beach in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.

We had been tracking her for 5 days since we saw her limping on the streets. Even though we have found out that she has completely ruptured ACL ligaments in both legs, she was running in a panic anyway.

A lady named Kristi called us and said this poor girl was collapsed behind her house and could not move. I raced over there, and found her without any movement, completely emaciated and dehydrated, I called my grandson immediately and he brought a kennel, we carefully put her in the kennel and transported her right away to the veterinarian, Posta veterinario. It was found that she was severely anemic, had chronic arthritis, tick fever, the three bullet shots, and both of her back legs had 100% torn ACL knee ligaments. She is on extensive medications, special foods and supplements, a monthly shot for the pain.

Hope is now starting electro-stimulation therapy, laser therapy, and hydrotherapy to try to build up the muscle mass in her back legs. She barely has any muscle mass, and this causes her many problems, including walking, especially with the torn ACLs.

We want to do everything we can to avoid the surgery so we are exploring alternatives. The surgery on each of her legs would not only be extremely expensive, but would have a terrible recovery time of 4 months. We don't want this as she is 10 years old or more.

She is at her foster mother's at this time, LeighAnn Duran, who is a saint taking care of this poor sweet dog.

We will report on all of our costs, the goal of 2079 reflects three months of care.
