Hello!

My name is Hope, and I'm a transgender woman living in North Carolina. I recently had the incredibly lucky and sudden opportunity to schedule gender-affirming surgery for next month! I'm privileged in that my insurance covers my surgery, leaving much less of a financial burden on my wife and me. However, because this has come up so suddenly, we haven't had the time to prepare for lodging, travel, and other costs associated with surgery beyond medical costs.

I'm fundraising to cover the unexpected costs of lodging, travel, and other expenses related to my gender-affirming surgery.

Here's some of my gender story in a nutshell:

My entire life, I've constantly wondered why I felt so off. I could never put my finger on it, even through multiple identity crises. Eventually, in July of 2024, I realized I could never be happy living as I was. My soul screamed at the repression of her femininity. Once I finally accepted myself for me, I understood I needed to change how I presented myself immediately, so began my transition speed run! In August 2024, I started gender-affirming hormone replacement therapy (GAHRT), and I've never felt better in my life. Some bodies are wired wrong, I guess! I started laser hair removal for my facial hair in September; it's so freeing to be on the path to a clear face. In November, in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, I was able to change my name to better reflect who I am. Shortly afterward, I was able to update my legal documents to reflect my new name as well.

My journey so far has been everything I've needed it to be. I've been healing the wounds left on my heart by growing up in the wrong body. This surgery will be another step toward bringing the best version of me into existence. All donations are greatly appreciated, and please do not donate if you cannot do so comfortably.
