My name is Nomi Slack, and I have started this GoFundMe for my dear friend, Holly Nichols, and her husband Clarence Nichols. We are raising funds for our dear friend, Holly — “Mrs. Nichols” to so many spectacular human beings over the past 11 years.

Mrs. Nichols is facing the loss of her job, potentially her teaching certificate, her pay, and her pension. Why? Because people in charge have decided that we need to mourn someone the same way they do, or else we lose our livelihoods. The same people in charge are demanding her resignation, and the answer is not only no but f!ck no. Mrs. Nichols did not do anything wrong. To make matters worse, someone she trusted shared private pictures and posts that she had every right to share. We cannot believe this is happening in America right now, but it is. 

Mrs. Nichols needs $10,000 for a lawyer’s retainer and an additional $5,000 for court costs and to feed her family. 

To make this crystal clear all funds are going to Holly and Clarence Nichols for their legal defense, court costs, and basic every day expenses, including food. All donations will be transferred to Holly Nichols’s bank account via this app. I am not receiving any money; it is all going to their family. 

We are asking for your help to begin her legal defense and to make sure Holly and her husband, Clarence, have food on the table during this nightmare. If you cannot donate — and we understand that times are indescribably hard — please share this post publicly so others can contribute.

P.S. The irony here is gut-wrenching: Holly is a journalism teacher — someone who has dedicated her career to teaching truth, integrity, and the power of free speech.
