Help Hip Hop Sweet Shop after devastating fire...

Donation protected
Hip Hop Sweet Shop Bakery would first like to thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, kind words of encouragement, and support. For the past few days, we’ve hoped to awaken from this nightmare but have realized that this is our devastating and unfortunate reality.

Around 4:00 am on Wednesday, December 21st, we were startled out of our sleep by numerous phone calls and messages that the 18th & Jefferson Street Plaza in Louisville, KY, which houses several businesses, including our very own Hip Hop Sweet Shop Bakery, was on fire.

We are thankful for the Louisville Fire Department’s diligence in getting the fire out and we are so thankful that no one was physically injured. However, we suffered a tremendous loss--as the entire plaza succumbed to the fire. This leaves Hip Hop Sweet Shop, along with the other businesses in the plaza, at a total loss.

We’ve personally put a lot of blood, sweat, money, and tears into building Hip Hop Sweet Shop from a mobile bakery bus into what it was as an iconic eat-in brick & mortar. It was devastating for us to pull up and see it ablaze. As devastating as it is, we won’t let this obstacle stop us.

We find strength and courage through the support of our community, through our passion for what we do, and last but certainly not least through every smiling face that we’ve ever had the pleasure of serving. These reminders keep us going!

We are working through the details of what our future will look like but we reassure you that this will NOT be the end of Hip Hop Sweet Shop!

We are asking for your continuous love and support of Hip Hop Sweet Shop. We also ask, if your hearts lead you, please donate to help us get back up and running. Your generous donations will help us to renovate and build out our mobile bakery bus, rent temporary commercial kitchen space, pay staff, and purchase items.

We’re not shy of hard work and we’re going to do what it takes to ensure that we can keep “Bringing the Sweets to the Streets”, no matter the challenges we face. We thank you in advance for your support and look forward to serving our community again.
