Help Herbie get better!
Donation protected
Anybody who knows Mandy, knows the love she has for her two dachshunds, Herbie and Moose. Last week, Herbie started having muscle spasms in his neck. A trip to the vet sent him home with medicine and doctor’s orders to “stay quiet.” Unfortunately, Herbie has never been a fan of “staying quiet” often chasing balls until he collapses or running circles around Moose. Last night, Herbie took a very serious turn when his paws started curling, a tell-tale sign of IVDD (intervertebral disk disease). IVDD is a serious, complex issue for dachshunds and can affect 25% of them, leading to paralysis if not treated quickly.
Good news, Mandy knew the signs and got Herbie back to the vet right away. Bad news, Herbie requires a very expensive surgery to relieve the pressure on his spinal cord. Medical expenses are expected to be around $9,000. Please consider donating to help! It will appreciated more than words can express. It is a long road to recovery, but with lots of prayers and good thoughts Herbie will be back playing fetch soon!
