This is Diana. My neighbor Herb, who is in his 70s, rescued her many years ago from the street. Suddenly, last week, she stopped eating and was hiding under the bed. He posted for help on Nextdoor to get her in a carrier so he could take her to a vet. This is how I met Herb. We were able to get Diana, and he took her to VCA in West LA. Herb was desperate. He thought his cat was going to die, so VCA proceeded to do a battery of tests totaling more than $10,000. They did X-rays, a CT scan, blood tests, an MRI, a biopsy, an endoscopy—every test imaginable. Diane was finally diagnosed with cryptococcus. Herb is not wealthy and lives in a small studio apartment. He was close to a nervous breakdown after spending $10K, and he can't even medicate her. She kept hiding under the bed, and it was so stressful for both. I am putting together this fundraiser to help Herb cover the cost of these outrageous charges from VCA. We actually have found a medical foster that took Diana and is giving her medication until she is well. The treatment can take 3-6 months, and we would like to get some money for the foster as well. If you can spare a few dollars, please help Herb.
