Help Henri "Bijou" Elkins Recover from Surgery

Our friend Henri "Bijou" Elkins has been training tennis students and entertaining audiences for decades. Whether you know him as Henri the dedicated coach or Bijou the crowd-pleasing comedian and performer, he has strived to help you see the lighter side of tennis – and life.

Henri has literally worked his knees to the bone. He held off surgery for years, but eventually the pain became too great to continue without intervention. His doctors recommended replacing both knees as quickly as possible.

The COVID-19 pandemic complicated the process. Hospital resources in Utah were rationed, delaying his first surgery. Tennis clubs were ordered closed for a while, limiting Henri's ability to teach students and defray medical costs. Now – even though tennis clubs are allowed to be open – many students are wary of lessons because infection rates in Utah have grown out of control.

Thanks to the generosity of kind friends, Henri was able to get through his first surgery and get back on the court. But he just went under the knife again and recovery has been slower.

This fundraiser is to help Henri heal. He needs to focus on his recuperation so that he can coach and entertain for decades to come.
