Help Henri fight cancer

Donation protected
Henri Giroux is a 61 year old life-long bilingual Nipissing resident currently residing in Powassan, Ontario with his spouse, Amanda.  Henri is a dedicated healthcare and labour activist.  He retired in 2017 after 38 years of service at Cassellholme, Home for the Aged.  He is the proud father of an integrated family with 8 children, 11 grandchildren , and one great-grandchild.

In July 2018, Henri was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 Epstein-Barr B-cell lymphoma.  Currently, he continues to receive aggressive chemotherapy treatments every 21 days in Sudbury.  Henri hopes to receive stem cell transplantation as early as December 2018 in Ottawa, which requires him to live in Ottawa for three months with a support person, and travel to the hospital every day.

Henri is an incredibly kind and compassionate person who has tirelessly given of himself for decades to help make peoples' lives better.  We often see people who suffer from cynicism and apathy, and all too often in the public sphere, self-interest.  That isn't Henri.   He has never given in or given up.  Whether it has been care for the aged, hospital care, poverty issues, support for the LGBTQ community, and numerous other grassroots issues, he has organized, lobbied, and supported.

Please help support Henri, Amanda and their wonderful family through this difficult time.
