On November 8, 2020 our 9year old little girl was mauled by a dog. A dog that we had rescued and brought into our home in hopes of expanding our family and saving a life in the process. The animal shelter told us he was 2 years old ( later we would find paperwork that showed he was 5)- while some may think this is no big deal it is for us because our decisions would have been different and our lives would have never been altered and changed for ever from what occurred that Sunday night at 6pm
The dog lunged and I ( mom ) lunged at him ( dad was down the road picking up dinner ) I was able to throw him and myself into a wall and I held him down as I screamed for my Baby to wake up and get out of the house... to get to our neighbors house - her son is a paramedic..
Joliann ended up loosing three teeth hundreds of stitches inside and outside her mouth had to have braces/ bridge placed to try and secure the rest of her teeth
The nightmares and paranoia still linger - our daughter will forever be effected and changed by this
She sees the struggles/ worry and upset the bills are causing - we don’t want her to feel like it’s her fault — the medical bills have just grown out of control -
it started with our miscarriage over the summer then Jolianns attack and all the follow up and still future appointments/ surgeries- my IVC filter removal surgery and my next surgery to have a stent put in are all very expensive
We have been paying what we can but the debt is climbing and approaching $20k and that’s not even including my next surgery
so this is a mother’s plea - if you can find it in your heart to spare anything .. pennies add up... we will forever be grateful for any help in bringing some relief to our little girl —- she deserves so much more then what we can give her right now —
