Help Hazel Transition

Hi i’m Hazel, i’m 17 and transgender FTM (female to male) I came out to my close friends and dad in the summer of 2018 and began my transition socially from there. Since then, i am now out to everyone in my life and have been living as my most authentic self. I saved £500 of my own birthday, Christmas, etc money for 3 years so upon turning 16 i could start HRT (hormone replacement therapy). Thanks to my own hard work and support from family i have been very fortunate to start Testosterone on 26th August 2021. Testosterone and it’s changes have had such a monumental impact on my life. i no longer put myself at risk of UTI’s as i refused to use public toilets for fear of being harassed or worse beaten up. My social anxiety has been greatly reduced and i’m finding myself able to partake in things i’ve longed to do so but felt held back by my transness.

As much as i’m feeling so much more myself, my dysphoria surrounding my chest is still extreme. i have been binding (chest compression) for close to five years now and it’s having great physical affects as well as mental.

I have set up this GoFundMe to raise as much money as possible so i will no longer have to bind. I am currently working as many hours as permitted given i’m also in full time education doing two A Levels and a Level 3 Diploma. i’m very sensible with money and am saving as much as possible but i need help. i would take advantage of this country’s healthcare system but given the length of the NHS waiting lists, going private is my only option. Any money donated will be massively appreciated even if it’s only £1, i’ll still be £1 closer to living a life i’ve dreamed of for so long.

This surgery for me is not a luxury but a necessity.
