I am a friend of the Blackburn family and wanted to reach as many of the people who know, love, and care about them as possible. Recently, their world was turned upside down when their daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. So now, as their daughter begins her treatments, and her parents and brother begin to balance time with her and work, I am reaching out to those of you who know and love the Blackburns. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs will add up quickly. Based on her diagnosis and expected treatments, she is expected to be in the hospital for several months before she will be able to go home.

Who is Hayley?

Hayley is a bright, funny, and determined teenager with a heart full of positivity and an uplifting spirit. No matter the circumstance, she faces life with a smile and always finds ways to bring joy to those around her. She loves music, volleyball, and softball, and spends time at the beach with her family and school friends.

Before her diagnosis, Hayley was actively playing on her volleyball team and preparing for an upcoming tournament. She’s also an avid softball player, where her competitive spirit and enthusiasm shine through. She is a high honor student who takes pride in her schoolwork while still being an active member of the yearbook club, art club, and adventure club at school.

When she’s not on the court or field, Hayley enjoys relaxing at the beach, camping with her loved ones, and embracing the simple pleasures in life. At home, she’s often curled up with her two large dogs, Wallace and Betty, who are always there to offer comfort. Hayley also deeply loves music, frequently attending concerts and discovering new songs that bring her happiness.

Her positivity, energy, and natural ability to brighten the day of those around her truly define Hayley. We are all standing by her side, inspired by her strength and the joy she continues to share as she faces this challenge head-on.
