<div>I moved in with my dad two years ago after he consistently begged my friends and I to let me move in with him so he could prove himself a worthy father and reconnect with me. I doubted these claims, but decided to take the chance anyway as my grandma (his mom) was in failing health and would need extra care.

<div>The first year here I wasn't allowed to use the cars. I live in Sunfield, there isn't public transportation available. So, I was confined to the home and resorted to trying to program any independent project I was able to ascertain. It wasn't much but it was something. I was cooking and cleaning everyday, making sure there were prepared lunches for my dad every week for work and dinner when he got home. The entire time he had been triangulating me with the neighbors and my sister who told me about him talking about how I was lazy and fat (along with some inappropriate comments about me in the shower). I confronted him about this and he refused to admit it and threatened to throw me out then. I immediately started consulting different lawyers and that's how I know that a person with no written lease is going to find themselves hard-pressed to label themselves as a landlord with the ability to evict. Plus, this is my childhood home, and he is my father. However, since then he has escalated things; financial abuse, mental abuse, and now physical. I documented it all, but I need to find a safe place to live.

<div>He brought home two cats, Max and Ruby, after this confrontation and now I'm their primary caretaker (as he was neglectful and refused to buy them food after they reached 8 weeks; prior to 8 weeks, he only bought the food, vet visits, and spay and neuter on the grounds I would take care of the feeding, appointments, and travel). He continues to scare them and try to use their safety as a way to control me. He will continue to do so with their lives if I leave them behind.

<div>That year I told him if he wanted me to get an in-person job then to let me use one of the cars. I asked for permission to use one of the three he has, and he decided to get an old car from a person's front yard instead. This allowed me to finally get a job here, so I started Ubering deliveries until I got a job at Buffalo Wild Wings this last NYE (my grandma passed that Christmas).

<div>As a newbie to the BWW team, the first three months were slow and steady rising in hours, then we had a manager that quit due to an interpersonal conflict and our hours dropped significantly, these last two months have depleted my funds as I had only one day a week scheduled and was committing my spare time to the March Against Genocide with Palestine Solidarity (GR). I finally found a second job this month. This didn't leave me enough time to save, and I didn't even get all of the bills paid I needed as it's been so rough financially.

<div>He escalated again at the end of June and beginning of July when he realized I updated the doorknob lock on my bedroom door, to where he grabbed me and bruised me. Then, he continued this escalation when I gathered all the pennies collected in jars around the house for gas and an overdraft fee. He claimed I stole from him even though I have it recorded when I first moved in that he said house change is free to use. He escalated over forgotten pennies.

<div>He has now served me an eviction notice from an office in Portland. It's a basic document he had the office print out for him and i know i'll be able to contest it. But, with him no longer throwing pots and pans at me and instead is now grabbing and bruising me, I really can't afford to risk the safety of my cats and myself in order to buy time to save up to move.

<div>So, I'm asking for help to at least get me a deposit and first and last month's rent covered so I can move and take my cats with me. We cannot stay here anymore. We need safety.
