Help Hackney Showroom raise £10K to keep thriving

We're turning 10 in April 2025, and we were hoping you could help us raise £10K to help us thrive!
The need for our services has never been higher but the funding situation has never been as tough as it is now. Although we work year-round to raise the money, there is always a gap. And this is where we need you! We are currently fundraising to reach £10,000 by the end of March.
What do we do?
We're Hackney Showroom, an award-winning arts organisation, an artist development space and a grassroots community centre based on the Kings Crescent Estate.
* We work with minoritised artists, performers, and directors to bring to light shows that otherwise wouldn't get the support they need.
* We offer a year-round FREE acting programme for young people (18-25) from working class and underrepresented backgrounds, helping to develop the next generation of artists.
* We offer a FREE cultural community programme all year round for those living in deprivation (including a weekly kids library, a youth club and a lunch club for over 60s).
* We deliver shopping vouchers during the winter months to those most in need on our estate.
* We provide a space to feel a sense of belonging for artists and local residents.
We know that...
* 150 locals come through our doors each week to engage in our programme
* 78% of our users are worried about the cost of living
* 65% of our kids' library attendees live on a Hackney estate
* 48% of our audiences are an ethnicity other than White British or White European
* 55% are aged 34 and under
What people say about us:
"A staple in London’s creative scene, Hackney Showroom delivers spell-binding theatre alongside enriching community building, culminating in a unique excellence that is hard to match."
Gay Times
“Diversity, inclusivity and uniqueness are behind everything staged at Hackney Showroom. Nina and Sam provide the space for each artist and company to produce new work you wouldn’t catch somewhere else.”
Evening Standard
“So often marginalised artists like myself are not given the freedom to take risks, the budget to dream big and the space to improve our craft. BURGERZ showed me what my art could be like when I'm given time, team, resources and support.”
Travis Alabanza
“I have finally found a home for my play and for myself as an artist and a team of collaborators that prioritise creating empathetic theatre for a wide and inclusive audience.”
Zawe Ashton
“I am so grateful for the resources of Hackney Showroom, the loveliest community space that goes out of its way to make everyone feel welcome and included. Thank you, thank you!”

“I’ve really enjoyed going to Friday Lunch Club for over 60s, not only for the food, which is delicious, but mainly for a chance to talk to friendly people”.

Anything you can donate to our fundraiser will help keep us going for longer without the risk of cutting any of our services or activities.
Thanks for the support and here's to another 10 years!
