Earlier this year a new group was formed in Atchison, Kansas called "GS" -- 'Gioventù Studentesca' (student youth in Italian). GS is the high school experience of the Catholic lay movement, Communion and Liberation. Now the 16 high schoolers are trying to go to NYC in February for the New York Encounter. The kids need to raise 650 dollars each by the beginning of January. At the Encounter they will be volunteering helping to make this large event possible. People from England, Canada, Italy and Mexico will attend to hear speakers from all over the world. They wish to understand the theme of this year's Encounter "Here Begins a New Life" by taking the chance to go to this adventure and experience the Encounter as a community.
