Help Greene MS Family with Loss of Mother
Donation protected
Graciela Esparza Madril was a loving mother to three Palo Alto Unified School District boys whose tragic, sudden and unexpected passing has left her husband and three sons in mourning. In January, she began feeling physical pain and saw a doctor at Stanford Hospital. The doctors did not find anything out of the ordinary and sent her home. A few weeks later, on January 31st, she returned to the hospital and was diagnosed with sudden Kidney Failure. On February 3rd, she celebrated her 42nd birthday at Stanford Hospital with her husband and children at her side. Two nights ago, on February 8th, she passed.
Graciela's three sons (Joshua, Yahir, and Eric), and her husband Hermenegildo are long-time community members. The boys attend schools in Palo Alto and have been beloved members of our community for the past 15 years.
Joshua attends Greene Middle School, Yahir is at Palo Alto High School and Eric, a Paly graduate, studies at Foothill College. All three are devastated by the unexpected loss of their mother. During this time, the boys' father Hermenegildo, has not been able to work his usual 40-50 hour work weeks as a house painter here in the Bay Area. Their teachers at Greene Middle School and Escondido have gotten together to support this family in their time of need and are asking for community support to help them through this tragic moment in their lives.
Graciela was a dedicated mother who worked tirelessly to ensure her sons received a proper education enrolling her boys in the Tinsley program. She was both a homemaker and the principal caregiver for her sons whose health and well-being she cared for, ensuring they remained active and dedicated soccer players and students. All her boys attended Palo Alto Schools. She worked many hours as a volunteer in her religious community and assisted local soccer clubs, acting as a mentor to her son Eric. Graciela's example of volunteer work led Eric to do the same. Working many free hours as a coach to 9 to 11-year-old boys and girls soccer clubs, he has made his mother's example of giving back to her community a part of his life.
Due to the loss of income and the high costs of funeral services, we ask that you consider donating to this family in their time of need.
