A comfortable and enjoyable life for Graziano This is Graziano, born 7 years old and healthy. After his birth, he contracted a bacterium discovered too late in his head. Since then we have been fighting every complication and fighting through all operations. Graziano is a fighter: completely paralyzed from the left, he has turned up to be left-handed and able to walk independently. Fate has struck again in recent months. Due to problems with his brain drains, he has had seven operations and a stroke since the beginning of May. Now the right side of his body is paralyzed. He is dependent on being wheeled around in a wheelchair, he has difficulty speaking and cannot eat independently anymore. After the hospital process, we will use all therapists at home to make his life more comfortable. This requires quite a few adjustments in our house, such as thresholds, shower, adapted tables and rooms. Graziano's big dream is to go to Disneyland with his father, mother and sister and meet Mickey Mouse there. Unfortunately, due to all the extra costs and hospital admissions, we have run out of reserves, we are even trying to catch up on financial arrears. With only a PGB as income, and continuous care no longer an option for a normal job or normal life, this is very difficult to achieve. Na zijn geboorte heeft hij een te laat ontdekte bacterie in zijn hoofd opgelopen. Sindsdien strijden wij tegen elke complicatie en vechten wij ons door alle operaties heen. Graziano is een vechter: van links totaal verlamd, is hij opgekropen naar linkshandig zijn en zelfstandig kunnen lopen. In de afgelopen maanden heeft het noodlot opnieuw toegeslagen. Door problemen met zijn hersendrains heeft hij sinds begin mei inmiddels zeven operaties en een herseninfarct gehad. Nu is de rechterzijde van zijn lichaam verlamd. Hij is afhankelijk van rondgereden worden in een rolstoel, hij praat moeilijk en kan niet meer zelfstandig eten. Na het ziekenhuistraject zullen wij thuis alle therapeuten inzetten om zijn leven comfortabeler te maken. Hiervoor zijn aardig wat aanpassingen in ons huis nodig, denk aan drempels, douche, aangepaste tafels en kamers. Het is Graziano's grote droom om met zijn vader, moeder en zus naar Disneyland te gaan en daar Mickey Mouse te ontmoeten. Helaas zijn wij door alle extra kosten en de ziekenhuisopnames door onze reserves heen, we proberen zelfs financiële achterstanden in te lopen. Met slechts een PGB als inkomen, en door de continue zorg geen optie meer op een normale baan of een normaal leven, is dit erg moeilijk te bereiken.
