<div>On June 11, 2025, my grandfather was rushed to the ER with severe back pain that left him unable to stand or walk. He was admitted to Wilcox Hospital, where he’s remained ever since—undergoing testing, treatment, and physical therapy. After six long weeks, he’s finally scheduled to be discharged on Saturday, July 26th, and will return home to be cared for by my grandmother.

<div>Unfortunately, Grandpa is still unable to walk without assistance, and his condition has put a huge physical and emotional strain on our family. My grandma—his primary caregiver—had a spinal fusion just last October and has limited ability to help move or lift him on her own.

<div>To bring him home safely and help him regain a sense of independence, <strong>we’re raising funds to purchase several essential items that are not covered by insurance:</strong>
</div>
<div>    •    Powered Wheelchair ($5,000): So he can move around the house on his own—from bed to bathroom, to his desk, and to the living room.
</div>
<div>    •    4-Wheel Mobility Scooter ($3,500): For safe outings, doctor visits, and moments outside the home.
</div>
<div>    •    Power Recliner with Lift Assist ($5,000): To help him sit, sleep comfortably in alternate positions, and transition from seated to standing without strain or injury.

<div>Since June 11, Grandpa has also been unable to work, and the lack of income has made things even more difficult financially.
</div>

</div>
<div>He is scheduled to see a neurologist on August 13th, and we’re praying this will finally lead to clear answers about the cause of his pain—and most importantly, a plan to help him recover and get back to living a full and active life.
</div>

<div>Just one week after that appointment, on August 21st, Grandpa will be turning 79 years old. Our biggest hope is that by then, he’ll be home, comfortable, and on the path to healing.
