Help Grandma Fight Brain Cancer

Grandma/Mama took care of everyone her entire life. Having been raised the "old school" way, cooking was her way to your heart. She could make any problem go away with a little something special from the kitchen. But it was never about the food. Rather it was her manner. She cared her way out of troubles if that makes sense. She helped raise everyone's kids including mine. She helped raise my kids so I can have "a work life balance" ... but she did all the work at home. She never really worked a job and never had any money but somehow, she managed. She gave everything to people who needed more than her. She would travel far just to take old baby clothes from my kids to people living in remote areas. She bussed it, in a small clunky van which had to ride up on the side of clif ridden mountains. But when she returned, she brought nothing back except her good feeling that she had helped someone else. Now, its our turn to help. She was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma tumor in her brain a few months ago. She had surgery to remove most of it and is now in rehab to relearn how to hold a spoon. Imagine, when she was the one to feed all the children with a spoon. Monday she begins chemo and radiation on the brain and we need prayers. Unfortunately, insurance is complicated and it turns out that Medicare doesnt cover your care during the treatment. They cover meds, but not the care. So, transportation to and from the hospital isnt covered. Someone to help her go to the bathroom and land the toilet isnt covered. Someone to feed her, isnt covered. We are doing everything we can and paying everything we can afford to help her. But based on the cost of healing this thing, its not enough. We ask for your support.
