Help Gor Her's Family With Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
December 25th, 2019 is a day of gifts, celebrations, happiness, family, and the anticipation of opening presents for most. The celebration of Christmas is undoubtedly the most wonderful time of the year. However, for us it’s the day we woke up to a harsh reality; the darkest day in our lives thus far. On this day, the heavens took back one of his angels. On this day, we felt sadness and grief no words can describe. Instead of opening presents and share invaluable memories, we lost our beloved mother, Gor Her (Niam Yang Tong) at the age of 61.

Our beloved mother was born on June 15th 1958 as Jer Thao (Nxtawn Thoj) now legal name Gor Gue Her, near the river of Nam Xam, Houaphanh Province Laos. She grew up as the youngest of six siblings, four daughters and two sons. She married our orphaned father Yang Tong Her, without a ceremony due to the instability after the war. She came to the US not knowing the language nor had an education due to her upbringing in a war-torn era. But that did not hinder her from loving us unconditionally. She made sure we had food and clothes and a roof on top of our heads. To describe how much of a hard worker she was, there are not enough words to express it.

Her life of hard work and motherly love came to a halt in the past couple of years. She developed high blood pressure and diabetes that lead to the loss of her eyesight. Eventually, her health deteriorated to the point where she had multiple strokes that resulted in her speech impairment and motor control. We took her to spiritual healers and doctors but they all gave up on her and sent her back home. She was put on for hospice care. Unable to eat and walk, her illness soon confined her to her death bed.  Watching our beloved mother suffered in pain and agony was the hardest thing we have had to endure. Yet, our mother still loved us so much that she did not want us to see her go. On the morning of December 25th at 5:30am whilst we were sleeping, she succumbed to her illness and passed on.

To say that our family is now a broken home and our father a broken man would be an understatement. Our mother took a little piece of us with her. Her life and her future died with her on that day. Our cries and tears will not bring our beloved mother back; we feel we did not get to love her enough yet. But her legacy will always live on in our memories, the memories of her grandchildren, and the memories of the people she touched.

We ask for any donations in order to help our family during these hard times. Anything you can donate will help us greatly as we prepare our mother for her final journey to her resting place. For those who cannot donate we greatly appreciate your kind words and condolences. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for each and every donation made.
