Help Goldilocks & 2 Baby Bears

Donation protected
Goldilocks is actually a young mother with two sons who found the courage to leave her abusive ex after the last of many brutal beatings.  The three of them have been living in one-room in a motel for months.  She's working full-time, struggling, but  determined to make a better life for herself and her sons.

I met Goldilocks when I was in the store where she works.  At the time, she was clearly distressed and I learned it was because the elderly lady who picks up her two-year-old at daycare for her had become ill and taken to the hospital.   She was worried about her friend and anxious that she couldn't leave work in time to pick up her baby.   I was able to calm her, but she stayed on my mind and in my prayers all weekend.

I sought her out the next week and gradually learned of her plight.  She has no family, was abandoned by her own mother at 4 and has no father or other relatives in her life.  She lives in constant fear of being found by her ex, who is not interested in her son, but in punishing her for leaving him at obtaining a restraining order.

After speaking with my contact at DCFS, I was advised not to post photos of the family or to use their names to keep them safe.   That's why I used Goldilocks.  She's barely 5' and 100 lbs.  Her boys are 2 and 8 and desperately want to be in a home, not a motel room.

She's found a small apt., but needs $3,000.00 to secure it with a deposit, first and last months' rent, plus she will need to get utilities turned on and get furniture.    She has nothing now, but their clothes.

I realize everyone has had their charitable giving stretched with the so many disaster victims this year.   Jim and I have given to them all as well.   But I'm hoping you can stretch just a tiny bit more to help this family.

I had promised myself a new coat and boots this winter, but decided the ones I have were fine and used that money to buy Goldilocks and her boys coats and a few things for winter.   Please if you can possibly donate $5, $10, $50 or more, it could mean the difference in these young children spending the holidays in a motel or sleeping in a bed of their own.

This sweet family is in need of everything--clothing, furniture, basics, but mostly a place to live.  With the holidays swiftly approaching, what a wonderful way to express thanks for our own blessings by gifting this family with a chance at normalcy and a happy Christmas.

If you already participate in my Adopt-A-Child at Christmas Program, this family will be on the list.  But before Santa can make his way to them, they need your help in finding a home.

Thank you for your generosity.   May God's blessings return to you ten-fold.

Hugs,
