Help Glenn Corning recover
I ran a fun discount store in Santa Barbara for 30 years. It was the Random store in the 1200 block of State St. One that drew upon commercial and industrial auctions all over America. I even bid against the characters on Storage Wars. Sadly it’s gone now. More recently I was selling at swap meets.
Then a minor injury to my right heel got badly infected. After two surgeries and a week in Cottage Hospital, I was released into a recovery facility. Part of my heel was removed. There is a wound vac attached to my foot by a tube. It’s going to be that way for many weeks. Full recovery will take many months. I could still lose my foot. A lot of therapy will be needed to prevent that.
Update as of Mar 23, 2021: Healing my heel is progressing. According to my foot surgeon, the wound may close sometime in the next three months. After that, an unknown amount of physical therapy will be needed so I can walk, work and maybe even dance. It would be nice to not be homeless at that time.
Medicare has paid my medical bills. At least so far. Medi Cal may pay for therapy. Neither will pay for housing or healthy food. This fund raiser is now intended to help with that. I don’t think I will lose my foot.
