In June 2017, our beautiful friend Toni was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 24. Toni was given just 20% chance of survival. Of course, such a diagnosis is a massive blow to anyone, but for Toni, it was exceptionally cruel. Having battled with endometriosis all of her life, Toni had only just received the go-ahead for IVF treatment, which she had fought long and hard for. All Toni has ever wanted in life is to be a mother.
Despite her diagnosis, Toni was determined not to let cancer dim her spirit, and fought on with a kind of strength and positivity which inspired us all. Toni went on to not only fulfil a childhood dream of setting up her own business, but she also set up an Instagram page, which she dedicated to supporting others fighting their own battle with this cruel disease. Toni absolutely poured her love into this, offering frank, open and honest support to her followers, all whilst undergoing her own gruelling chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
As if that wasn't enough for one person to contend with, since June 2017, Toni has been in remission twice. Toni was diagnosed for a second time with vaginal cancer and a third time with womb cancer. Then, just a month after quietly celebrating Toni being in remission for the third time, we received some devastating news. On 4th February 2019, Toni learned that not only had her cancer returned, this time it was terminal. Toni is just 27 years old.
In a cruel twist of fate, just days after finding this out, Toni and her family learned that Toni's father, Derek, who has also been battling cancer, has been given just months left to live.
Please support us...
On 26th July 2019, Toni plans to marry her incredibly loving and supportive fiancé, our wonderful friend, Jim. Not only have Toni and Jim had their hearts set tying the knot for a long time, it is also Derek's final wish is to see his beautiful daughter walk down the isle. Therefore, we hope that in setting up this page, we may be able to speed things along and make that happen.
As Toni is no longer in a position to run her business like she used to, and due to both Toni and Jim dedicating the majority of their time to caring for Jim's elderly parents in every way they can, money is quite tight. Therefore, we are hoping to take the pressure off the entire family, including Toni's doting mother Linda and her loving brother Paul, by attempting to relieve the financial demands of organising the wedding.
Please help us to give Toni and Jim the wedding they absolutely deserve, and also support us in granting Derek's final wish.
