My name is Gina, and I’m a single mom doing my best to care for my two young daughters, ages 5 and 6, and my mother, who is bed-ridden and recently became an amputee. We’re facing eviction and have to come up with the full amount owed by January 8th, or the sheriff will be called. I’ve tried everything—reaching out to organizations, asking for payment plans, but no one has funds available and our landlord insists on the full amount all at once.
We just moved into this home because my mother’s medical situation made it impossible for her to stay in our old apartment on the third floor. The move was supposed to help her get to her follow-up appointments, but it came with transfer fees, late fees, and court costs that made it impossible to catch up. They also didn’t honor their agreement to reimburse our move-in fee. On top of that, my hours at work were cut due to inflation, and I have no personal transportation to help us get by.
I care for my mother full-time, making sure all her needs are met, while also raising my girls. It’s been rough, and we’re struggling to stay afloat. We need help to cover rent, utilities, and possibly moving costs if we can’t stop the eviction. Any support would mean the world to us and help us stay safe and warm this winter. Please and thank you from the bottom of our hearts—your neighbors in Lawrenceville.
