Help GIFT Sight to Kevin

Kevin can't see very much.
He has Stargardt Disease, a form of macular degeneration, that leaves him nearly blind. But he kicks ass every single day - doing things the average well-sighted person would struggle with - and doing them well.
He'd be able to do them even better with a new form of assistive technology called ESight. It's a pair of electronic lenses that are able to both enhance and magnify the world in a way that could change Kevin's life.
He tried them out a few weeks ago with exciting results...
Kevin's currently sees through limited peripheral vision. What ESight is able to do is sharpen that area of vision, and even freeze moving images so he can look around and find the best place to focus.
As a capable and successful cook in Philadephia, his limited vision complicates an already demanding career. With his happy-go-lucky and anything-is-possible attitude, however, he continously overcomes his limits and makes everyone's lives richer for it.
We met the original goal of $500.00 deposit that was for a 15 day trial to see if they were right for him. Thank you to everyone who helped us acheive the first milestone!
It turns out, however, that ESight also requires at least $5,000 to put on hold for the trial. We need all the help we can get to get there!
After that, if they are successful, we will continue fundraising the $10,000 they cost to keep. The coolest part is that as new technology is developed, Kevin can upgrade the glasses to potentially increase their efficiency. So spending the money doesn't lead to a dead end - the possibilities are as limitless as Kevin's potential!!!
Please help us make Kevin's life just a little bit brighter! It's only fair - that's just what he does for everyone else!
