Help Gianna with moving, medical, and other costs
Hi friends, my friend Beth P. helped me put together a Gofundme to help with moving and other costs.
A little about my health and financial history and why I am reaching out for help:
I have struggled with my health since late high school, and prior to becoming disabled in 2017, was a college student and then severely struggling to get on my feet for the next year/year and a half while becoming further disabled from Spring 2015 to Jan 2017. I ended up completely disabled in my early twenties and have never had a full time career.
I have been fully disabled from POTS, Mast cell/chemical sensitivity, CIRS, fibromyalgia, nerve and connective tissue damage, and other health issues since 2017 and have also been up against many other life factors since then without a lot of help. My family unexpectedly threw me out in 2018 with none of my things and nowhere to go (at a point when I was barely able to stand upright due to POTS/autonomic damage and was under explicit doctor's orders to "avoid stress", and ended up worsening my condition..) I had to start over from nothing, and have never recovered from that to begin with.
At that point friends took me in for about 6 months, during which time I won my disability case and was then able to rent a chemical free apartment. I then moved and went through another major financial hardship in 2020 which put me into debt for over 2 years, despite my best efforts to avoid debt especially while on low income. During this time I also had to back off of most healing protocols for financial reasons which drastically slowed my healing progress and at times caught up with me physically.
From the end of 2022 until now I have been scraping by and was hopeful that those issues were behind me, now out of debt and with a stable place to live.
Unfortunately my roommate and I received a letter notifying us that our tenancy will end at the end of our lease this year (likely because our landlord was not happy that we complained when they took 3 months to fix a mold situation last summer), and facing an unexpected move will mean coming up with costs I simply do not have.
These include application fees (quickly added up to more than I can afford), potentially having to buy/hook up a new washer/dryer that hasn’t been contaminated with commercial laundry products (not included in new rental), needing to buy a fridge (rental provides only an apartment size fridge for 2 people), and various other items needed to decontaminate and make the new space workable/livable at my level of sensitivity.
I have really been trying to put my life and health back together in all regards. I was bedridden for multiple years and have been able to overcome many of the most severe issues, but am still facing moderate health challenges at this time. Because of that, I still need a similar chemical free environment and housing stability in order to continue, and can't afford some of these items with my current disability income. I have not had any help from family and sadly that has not changed. I am hopeful that this next move will provide continued stability for even more healing and appreciate any and all help. I've been hesitant to post all of this before because it sounds like a lot, and it has been. When I look back at the sheer number of hurdles and what I've been able to overcome, I know I will get there eventually (and wholeheartedly feel that I would have been there already if not for the additional curve balls). Thank you for your support and for donating what you are able to (any amount or even supplements would be appreciated)!
