Please help me finish what I've started...

Hi, my name is Natalie, raised in Reading, graduate of the University of the West of England and aspiring Polar Science Researcher.

So let me tell you why I started this fundraiser. It all started with my parents. My father is retired, still hard-working and a cancer survivor. Both him and my mother have made immense sacrifices to help fund me on my Masters as they believe in me and what I can achieve. I don't always feel like I deserve their faith in me but it is never wavering. They take my dreams as their own and do whatever it takes to help me get there, even if it means they themselves suffer.

But with limited funds from their pensions, I don't want to have to rely on them when they should be enjoying this time in their lives - especially when COVID threatens our lives every day. So to help me finish my Masters and get me on my journey to working in Antarctica to help future climate change research, I need your help.

The sum may be a strange one but it is the exact amount I need to pay my accommodation fees for the rest of my course (until August 2021). My tuition fees are already covered by a Postgraduate Loan, my monthly expenses are minimal but it is my accommodation fees that I wish my parents didn't have to support me in, as I know they struggle - even though they never complain.

Therefore, I am fundraising for the remaining cost of my accommodation fees.

I would really appreciate it if you could donate £15 or more to help, not only me, but to help give my parents back their life in retirement without worrying about supporting me.  Of course, £15 is only a suggestion - I would appreciate any help you can give.

I count myself extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to study a Masters in studying past climates at the University of Cambridge - as Climate Change is such a vital issue we all need more researchers for.  But I feel even more fortunate to have friends and family who have supported me so far in helping me get to Cambridge and realise a dream that never felt within reach before. Because of them, I am here and I've been given the best possible chance to be a Polar Researcher - irrespective of my race and social standing before I arrived. Please help me make them proud by finishing.

Thank you for reading my campaign and stay safe.
