Hello, we are fundraising for Kate & Nathan to rebuild their home after 3 long years of court battles and homelessness.

These are the shocking images that show the utter devastation caused when their freeholder ripped off the roof of their block of flats and tried to build two new flats on top - leaving the leaseholders beneath homeless and thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Kate is the owner of one of six leasehold flats in the two-storey block in Ashford, Surrey, who found themselves forced to leave their homes after the multi-millionaire owner of the freehold to the property removed the roof and started work to build two new flats above where she lives.

It kick-started a disastrous chain of events which the owners of the flats claim have made their lives hell, driven them to the brink of suicide and bankruptcy and graphically highlighted the injustice of the leasehold system.

They are now locked in a joint costly legal battle as they attempt to recover around £100,000 from the freeholder for repairs and compensation, maintaining that they have been thwarted every step of the way as he denies liability for the damage, blaming scaffolders for the problems. The buildings insurance firm allowed the freeholder to join on to the leaseholders policy which in turn invalidated it with his reckless activities.

The pictures of the carnage were taken in Kates flat after days of water came gushing in, which eventually led to its ceiling collapsing, leaving her two-bedroom home looking like a bomb site.

Unfortunately the court case which has been going on for years has not been settled and just confirms the injustice of our legal system and has the flat owners in legal debts currently standing at £140,000!!
