Help get Kaleb a ActionTrack Chair

Kaleb is 18 years old and has been in a wheelchair since birth due to being born with Spina Bifida. When Kaleb was born, the doctor told us told us to enjoy all the time we could with him because he probably wouldn’t live past 3 years of age. Kaleb has always been a fighter and he has never let his disability keep him from doing what he loves. Kaleb has over 20 surgeries since birth but he continues to live everyday with an amazing attitude. Having spent a lot of time at the lake when he was little, Kaleb developed a love for the outdoors. He loves boating, fishing, hunting, car shows and going to the dirt car races. About 4 years ago, Kaleb had the opportunity to go on a turkey hunting trip with the Oklahoma Outdoor Outreach and developed a true love for hunting. He has gone on annual deer hunts and turkeys hunt ever since. His love for the outdoors was no problem for him when he was younger but it has really become a struggle as he has grown older. His only means of getting around is his manual wheelchair. This makes it very difficult for him to get around unless he is on a solid surface. Being able to be outdoors and doing what he loves, gets him out of the house and makes a huge difference in his quality of life. A few years ago, at an outdoor expo, we ran across the action chair and you could see the excitement in his eyes. The action chair is an outdoor only chair that would allow him to go places he never imagined. He can get around on grass, in sand, in the woods and in the snow without any assistance at all. It will allow him to go basically anywhere a 4 wheel drive vehicle can go. I will give him the mobility to go anywhere an abled bodied person can go. We have tried several times to get assistance from insurance companies but they will not help because they say it is a want rather than a need. Kaleb graduated high school this past year and has plans to attend school to get a degree in a field that will allow him the opportunity to work in the great outdoors. Right now, Kaleb feels limited to what he can do because he is confined to his manual chair, but with the action chair, he will be able to live life to the fullest. This chair will do so much for him, both mentally and physically. It will allow him to live out his dreams.
