Help get Jessie back on her feet from IVDD & BOAS

This is Jessie a 2 year french bulldog from Nottingham who loves walking playing ball and dressing up daft ☺️

Wednesday 17th Febuary we woke up to Jessie panting heavily and struggling to stand on her back legs and in an awful amount of pain  

We rushed her to the emergency vets that morning who told us it was urgent and we needed to go see a specialist in Derby at Pride Veterinary as they suspected IVDD.

Jessie went in for consultation and had a suspected slipped disc in her back but needed a MRI to confirm, she also had no sensation in her rear legs so she’s effectively paralysed and didn’t have a good chance at life without an operation.

MRI results came back as slipped disc and heavy deep bruising around the spine which needs an operation to try and rectify which confirmed it to be IVDD ☹️

The vet explained to us that its a very risky operation and only 50% chance of ever being able to walk again.

We had to take the chance and give her the best possible chance at life.

Jessie had the operation the same day and went as expected.
Its very early days and its still unknown if she will ever walk again. 

We started this page to help get together some of the costs to put towards the price of surgery and her future rehabilitation which includes all sorts of comforts around the home & hydrotherapy to help build strength if she gets feeling back in her legs.

Times have been hard for everyone lately with covid etc and being self employed hasn’t been great. 

Since day 1 of owning Jessie i have payed monthly insurance, but as the first lockdown hit i had to cut back on alot of things which i regret this being one at the time.

Worked picked up again slightly recently so i started a new policy which was 3 days prior to the horrible news yesterday so ultimately not insured.

That being said the costs for this treatment will exceed £10000 now with the added BOAS operation she has had to have... (see update pages) 

Any help would be greatly appreciated to see Jessie have the life she once had no matter how small donation even 50p could help long term.

Crazy how one day can change yours and her life simply by going to sleep one night walking to the next morning being in agony and unable to move.
