Help Get Dave Johnson a Bite Suit!

We have witnessed a great deal of Natural disasters this past year. We have all seen the devastating images of people stranded, homes wrecked, and animals who need rescuing. When natural disasters strike, the most common method used to save animals in need is a Ketch-All Pole. While using the Ketch-All Pole a noose is attached to a long pole. This method keeps the handler safe for the most part, but is extremely stressful for an already scared and distressed dog. When a dog is in that much fear and distress it can mean extreme injury for the dog, along with a very traumatic experience.
Our trainer Dave Johnson is proposing using a bite suit to help when these natural disasters strike. We are looking to purchase a bite suit that easy to move in and to transport. This would enable the person to retrieve a dog in a manner that would not be nearly as stressful for the dog by the handler being able to reach them close and either use a leash or carry them without the fear of being bitten. Also, it would not dehumanize this interacton.
Along with rescuing dogs in natural diasters this bite suit would allow our trainers to help with behavioral problems in dogs we currently cannot reach due to our safety. That will mean we are able to keep more dogs in their current homes and help homeless dogs find homes. Our trainers have already worked with multiple aggressive dogs and have had success in rehabilitating
them and would love to continue down that road.
Our trainers do train at the animal shelter regularly
and this bite suit would benefit this as well. They want to get homes to as many dogs as possible. In the future they would like to save as many dogs as possible from possible from euthanization, that might occur at other locations throughout the United States.
Our overall goal is to save as many dogs as possible from natural disasters, being homeless, or euthanization.
