Help Get Caitlin Home and with Medical Expenses

As most of you know, Caitlin has been in the hospital in Spain since early February. Though she has made some physical gains, she is still unable to speak or care for herself due to the trauma her brain endured during her illness, and doctors have said she will need months of neurological and physical rehabilitation. Her current hospital unit in Spain is not equipt to care for her level of specialized needs, and her family has decided to move her back to the States to seek specialized care at Johns Hopkins.

As most of you also know, Caitlin was laid off from her job the month before this happened and has no ongoing income to support her immediate and future needs.

As such, on behalf of a group of friends dedicated to supporting her family and ensuring Cate has the best chance for a full recovery, we are starting this Go Fund Me to cover some of Caitlin's most immediate needs- 1) Transportation home to the US and 2) The COBRA premiums through the end of the year so that she can keep her employer-sponsored health insurance (which again ensures access to the best care available). A year of her premiums will run ~$10,000 and we are still finalizing transportation costs, though she may require medical assistance or a specialized flight that can run tens of thousands of dollars.
