Help George Cochran and his family!!

Donation protected
My name is Arngie Howell, I am a friend of the family.  I grew up and still live in Napoleon, Ohio. I started this go fund me account because George and his wife saved me. Who is George Cochran,  he is a father to twelve children.  He has adopted children from South Korea, Honduras, Paraguay, Guatemala, Vietnam, China, and The United States and has two bio-logical children.  His children are Natasha, Nicole, Alix, Anthony, Ashley, Nicholas, Aimee, Austin, Micaila, Bo, Mia, and Bentley.  There are so many other young adults that would consider him a Dad figure to them because he opened his heart and home to them and treated them like one of his own. He is a grandfather to twelve. George has been a dentist for 45 years making dentistry fun. Many can attest to his giving heart if a patient was having financial difficulty and had a dental emergency he would get them out of pain and ask for nothing in return.  This was his God given talent and one of the many ways of giving back to his community.  He loves providing dentistry to veterans, November is a favorite month in his dental office as they offer dental care at no cost as a thank you to our veterans for our freedoms.  He is a giver and is known in his community for supporting fundraisers, school programs, arts programs, his church, community churches, and helping any one in need with out asking he just helps.  He gives when he has nothing to give but believes God will provide. At the end of November 2019 George had a heart attack while in recovery.  While December came and passed with follow up appointments and missed work.  We thought we were on the road to recovery when he fell twice in one day from his blood pressure dropping.   In January our visits to the cardiologist were weekly and hospital stays began to happen every other week as they were adjusting his medication. More work was missed as each hospital stay entailed attests three days.  This was a routine for us for the last three months.   These last three months have been difficult as it’s been a whirlwind trying to keep the dental practice going, his home going, and raise his three year old son, and the medical bills are coming in. On Wednesday, April 3 our cardiologist in Toledo suggested that we go see a specialist.  We came down to OSU on Tuesday, April 9 for an appointment and they were given the choice to go home and come back in three weeks for testing or they could be admitted later on Tuesday and get the testing and monitoring done.   They made the decision since they were already in Columbus which is 150 miles away from home they would go ahead and just stay. On Thursday, April 11 some of the testing had come back and it was clear that George and his family made the correct decision as his heart is functioning at a 1.3 and a normal heart functions between 7-8 based a on scale of 1-10.  He has a long toad ahead of him with the hospital stay and recovery.  George, his wife and family have not posted anything but thanks on social media and when asked about how they are doing they are the most positive God fearing people I know. They have all remained positive and asking for prayers. His wife, Nicki is staying in Columbus with their older children.  Her routine has been getting to the hospital before George wakes up to help prevent the panic that he gets when he wakes up alone and leaving after he receives his night medicine.  Their three year old son is in the care of their good friends and older daughter in Napoleon.  They make sure the Bentley comes down for day visits so he can see his mom and dad when allowed.  They are also seeing that Bentley’s life continues like it would if mommy and daddy were home.  They get him to preschool, play outside, work in the barn, go bowling, play with the dogs, get him to church, and are loving on him like his parents would be doing. Here is my life changing story. I called Nicki on a dark Wednesday night two years ago and she answered the phone.  I was an emotional mess and while I knew Dr Cochran because he was my dentist and my mom’s employer I didn’t know Nicki that well but she is who I called and she answered that call.  Had she not answered it I may not be here today.   Through the friendship Nicki and George built with me I became a friend of the family.  They all took me in and helped me see that life was worth living and the God loves us all. I can tell you that I know I am not the only person George and Nicki have helped.  They are givers, they are lovers of life, they have always had hearts that gave to help others.   If they have touched your heart or helped your family please share this page and let’s help relieve some of the stress of raising their son, medical bills, and the cost of keeping their house and business going while are in the hospital. Nicki wrote this on her wall: As we await and pray that Our God who already knows his plan continues to bless us on this new journey of a heart transplant. Please continue to pray for George, all the specialist, our children and selfishly I ask for prayers for myself as this has been a shock to us. All donation made are directly deposited into a special account owned by George and Nicki at Farmers and Merchants State Bank to directly pay their medical and related expenses.
