Help George battle Leukemia

We have had so many friends and family ask us how they can help  the past few days so we decided this is the best way to support George and our family during this difficult time.  George was diagnosed with CML, chronic myeloid leukemia at the age of 28.  He went in for pre-surgery labs for a knee procedure and was quickly referred to hematology oncology with a high white blood cell count. For the past 6  years his Leukemia has been managed on oral chemotherapy.  The cost of the medication is over $10,000 monthly.  Some months have been very hard, some months he had to go without the medication while we finagled a way to obtain it, but for the most part we were lucky enought to have the treatment. He went through 3 chemo drugs before the correct regimen allowed him to be able to somewhat function in society as a "normal" person. His Leukemia would never be cured on these medications, we understood that. The constant nausea and vomitting never went away, George learned to deal with that being a normal part of his life. We were told he could live as much as 30 years on these meds. This past Thurday, he went in for a bone marrow biopsy.  Hours after the biopsy was taken he got a call he was in a "blast crisis" and he was directly admitted to the cancer hospital for immediate treatment. He will undergo several months of intense chemo while in the hospital.  We were told his cancer cells have mutated and oral chemo is no longer effective.  A bone marrow transplant is the only option left for him. Before that can happen, he needs to be out of blast crisis which may take up to 1-6 months depending on how the mutated cells respond to the chemotherapy. He will undergo bone marrow biopsy #7 in 2 weeks to see how he is responding to the treatment. He is very worried about being a burden to his family, as he has always been. We are hoping to raise enough money to cover our insurance deductable through the next coming year.  We appreciate all of the support during this time.  George is on neutropenic precautions which means no fresh flowers, balloons, or outside food.
