UPDATE: My hospital bill was $3,000 for a doctor to prescribe antibiotics and not even look at my injuries. Gargoyle's vet bill was paid in full, thank you soooo much everybody! I'm making bare minimum payments on my hospital bill. My mangled hands are healed, feeling has returned to my fingers and I've returned to what I love most- foster field trips!
On December 7, my 15 year old cat Gargoyle was attacked by a dog I was fostering. I dove in between them and suffered some pretty bad scratches and bites to my hands, but I would have done anything to protect my boy. I'm still awaiting hospital bill, because conveniently my insurance doesn't kick in until January 1, and I'm pretty sure they won't be covering my mystery bill. The hospital gave me antibiotics and a tetanus shot, but wouldn't tell me how much, gotta love American medicine. Gargoyle's emergency medical bill was over $700, though I would have paid no matter what it cost. I begged the shelter not to euthanize the dog, as I truly believe it was a freak accident. I'm not expecting anything, but if anybody is willing to donate, my boy and I will be so grateful for any assistance.
