Help Gabriel(John Matott)

My name is Nan Woodard, a longtime member of Jubilee! Community Church in Downtown Asheville. My good friend John Matott, whom we affectionately call Gabriel, has been a regular member for several years. We are inspired by the enthusiasm, joy, and unconditional love he brings to Jubilee! Community.

Gabriel suffered a life-threatening heart attack in early December and underwent open heart surgery to put a patch on his left ventricle. His physicians expect he will be recovering over several months before he can return to his work in the Ingles warehouse in Black Mountain. The recovery is complicated by his high blood pressure. 

You may know that Gabriel shows generous love to many local homeless residents of Asheville by collecting and providing them necessities, tents, & sleeping bags. 

He has applied for Short Term Disability and Unemployment Compensation, but the bills are already coming in. Meds alone cost around $1,000 a month. In addition, physician and hospital bills are enormous. 

 I’ve set up this GoFundMe drive to help with his needs in the short-term. Contributing to John’s GoFundMe drive is an opportunity to return the generosity he’s shared with others.
