Help Fund The Oklahoma Storyteller Album

Hi, my name is Sarah Popejoy. I lived in Nashville for around 10 years and made my way back home to Oklahoma. About 2 years ago I got the bug while at a retreat called, "Writing a Song That Matters" with Dar Williams in Upstate NewYork. It was there I wrote a song about my Grandfather, who was raised by his aunt along with his sister after his parents left him one day during the Great Depression and the dust storms that hit his little town hard. It was then that the idea had for so many years of writing an album about my home state and it's history started to come to life. Since then I've written 8 more songs and am working on 3 more. Meanwhile I would like to raise the money to record, place on vinyl, and have music videos for this album. Here's an example of one song which I produced the music and video. It kind of gives you an idea of what I want to do with this project.

A few things i'll be singing about include Leon Russell, Woody Guthrie, Wanda Jackson, Mickey Mantle, The Trail of Tears, Caroline Henderson of the Dust Bowl Era, The Oklahoma City Bombing, The Red River Bridge War to Name a few. If you would like to listen to some of my past work just go to SarahPopejoy.com. Thank you so much for being a part of this project.
