Over the past several years the Mars community has looked forward to a musical every year in the spring. With the help of our amazing directors, Jen Kennedy and  Sue Kaminski, we are able to put on unbelievable musicals such as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Beauty and the Best, and currently Mamma Mia. With COVID-19 hitting last year, all school activities were shut down, including the musical. We were a week away from show night with all of the sets built, costumes bought/made, and all of the money gone. Unlike most activities at Mars, the musical does not getting any funding from the school and relies fully on the money earned from ticket sales. With the musical being canceled last year, there was no money left. The directors decided to still push forward and to perform Mamma Mia a year later. During a normal year, we would have three shows with around 1,000 people at each but because of COVID-19 restrictions, only 120 people are allowed to attend each show. Even with six shows this year instead of three, we lost over 2,000 ticket sales. This puts the future of the musical at risk for next year and for the years to come. Please help us raise this money so that the future students of the high school are able to be apart of such an incredible activity and so that our community can continue to be able to come watch the performances. Above all, please help us raise this money for our two directors that put hundreds of hours and all of their hard work and love into putting on these shows.
