Hi there, my name is Rush (they/them) and I’m en route to top surgery in early 2024! I’m so excited to finally be at this step in my gender journey as a nonbinary person, but unfortunately it comes with a big cost (about $5,500 to be exact). This is where I need your help! I’m so excited because I’ve had my surgical consultation with one of the best top surgeons in New York City, but I am unable to set a definite date until I can make a $500 scheduling deposit. Between the high cost of living in NYC and my low income background, I haven’t been able to make this payment and set a definite date (but we’re looking at late March/early April!). This down payment is especially hard to meet as I’ve recently been facing some other expensive medical issues. Still I have hope that I can make this deposit with the help of all of you! Additionally the full procedure will cost an additional $4,500 which will need to be paid 2 weeks before surgery. The remaining $500 is for recovery equipment, copays, and any other assistance we may need during my recovery. This is truly a life changing surgery and would make a huge difference in my life.
