Nancy Jean Holloway Prince Faria Da Costa
- April 13th, 1954 - June 15th/16th, 2017. Mother, sister, daughter, wife, aunt, grandmother, writer and entrepreneur. She lived a healthy life, deciding to stay some time in Sesimbra, Portugal after the death of her husband Lucio da Costa.
It is with a heavy heart that I come to this platform asking for support. Our mother passed away between the dates of June 15th and 16th (cause of death still uknown to us). Due to the fact that she lived in Portugal (and the rest of us in the Americas) it is difficult to pinpoint exactly when it happened. I went in for a knee operation on June 17th and we all started to go into panic when she hadn't communicated with any of us.
Sunday night we started to investigate by making calls to the police (to check on our mother), hospitals and finally calling the U.S. Embassy in Portugal. They were able to get into her house and found she had already passed away.
We need to get to Portugal in order to take care of her remains. She wanted to be cremated so we will honor her wish. A cremation will cost $2,772.00 USD and transportation in the form of air travel will cost around $4,500 .00 USD. We humble ask for anything you are willing to donate. We need these funds as soon as possible (hopefully within the next two weeks) so we can take care of cremation fees and transportation.
