I am currently in my senior year at the School of Visual Arts and working on my thesis film. I have been studying traditional animation for the last four years and am taking everything I have learned and putting it into this film. My film utilizes the strengths of both 2D and 3D aspects, creating the best of both worlds. My short film follows the story of a young boy named Glen who feels he doesn't quite fit in on Earth. With the help of a girl named Val, he sets out on a quest to build a rocket and go to the Moon. In the process, he gains far more than he could have ever imagined. He gains a friend. This film is close to 6 minutes long, and as I am the primary animator, it is a task that is far too great to do entirely on my own. I have brought on assistants to help ink and color my animation. In addition, I have hired an FX animator to achieve the level of quality I want in the scenes involving the rocket. Animation is a highly rewarding, but time consuming art form and does not come cheap. I would like to be able to compensate them sufficiently and even hire more artists to help me achieve my vision for this film by it's due date, April 26th. After this point I plan to send it off to film festivals around the world. It is quite a large task to take on in such a short amount of time by myself so any help I receive is greatly appreciated.
