I am raising money for my mother to have professional home health care due to her newly diagnosed mild/moderate dementia. The financial assistance I am requesting will cover 3 months of live-in care in her own home as she is not to be left alone. This should “buy us (her doctors and me) some time” to see if mom’s mental health will stabilize. My mother started experiencing delirium after a fall she had in early March this year that triggered dementia behaviors. At this time, due to finances, our only option is care outside the home. Some of her delirium recently has been caused, we think, by the stress of the fall and 2 recent hospital and physical therapy stays. She has been in her own home now for roughly 2 1/2 weeks. Since at home, her delirium issues have shown some improvement, but if she is moved again outside her home, a rapid decline in her mental status is likely.
