HELP FUND INDIGENOUS SHORTFILM

Su Último Deseo" (Her Last Wish) is a lighthearted drama about Identity.

It tells the story of Urpi, a Peruvian American, who travels to her Family's homeland looking for closure, by fulfilling a promise she made to her grandmother; only to find a new beginning in her identity journey.

We look forward to this project inspiring our Indigenous Youth to keep creating and to have more stories that talk about decolonizing and reconnecting from an Indigenous perspective.

We will be working with a group of young indigenous aspiring filmmakers that have been working with our DP to help preserve the knowledge of our elders and communities.

This project will be filmed in the 3rd Week of October 2022 in the Peruvian Andes. Please check the INCENTIVES we are offering for donations.

The crew & cast will be mainly formed by the Andean Communities of Taray and Amaru, located in Cusco, Peru.

"Su Último Deseo is written highly influenced by my Identity journey, as a detribalized Indigenous Woman. I grew up not knowing most of my life about my Andean Heritage.

This project is a love letter to my Ancestors, my turaykuna, ñañaykuna, and a message of hope to my fellow Indigenous people in the diaspora who are looking to reclaim."

"I hope this will inspire more people to start their own journeys to reconnect with their origins in a process of decolonization for the survival of cultural diversity and ancestral wisdom. Reclaiming one’s cultural identity starts by respectfully finding one’s place and participating in your community, giving back to the land and people you come from, and being grateful for learning about your origins."

"This film is an opportunity to share Andean Values and to inspire audiences to look for alternative ways of living and being in this world. If we are to change our future, I believe we must look to the knowledge and wisdom held by Indigenous peoples.
