<div>One year ago today my father passed away after battling Glioblastoma for sixteen months. While the past year has been, at times, excruciatingly tough, it doesn't compare to the daily fight that he endured through surgeries, radiation, and chemo, all for an ending that was assured to us from the initial diagnosis. Glioblastoma is still uncurable, and 15,000 people will be disagosed with it this year including many, like my father, who had no family history of the disease.

<div>If you knew my dad, you knew that he was the definition of a people person. He'd spend hours talking to strangers, sometimes much to my annoyance and dismay. He always found a friend no matter where he went.

<div>In thinking of how to celebrate his life, and to (admittedly) help with my own grief, I want to ensure that something good can come of this, so for the next month I plan to attempt to raise some money not only for the National Brain Tumor society, but also for the Siteman Cancer Center here in St. Louis, where my dad and many other patients will be treated for this disease. Additionally, donations will also be used to continue yearly fundrasing.
