Help fund Alex and Madison's Thesis Film!

Princess Party Pandemonium follows a single powerhouse mother, Laura, who is struggling taking care of her family without others getting in the way. She wants nothing more than her daughter’s 8th birthday party to go smooth sailing but things get sour when the estranged grandmother makes a special appearance, but it doesn’t stop there. Judging eyes from the other parents and their kids follow Laura and her family throughout this party. But the cherry on top is when she receives a surprise visit from her cheating ex husband and his new scandalous girlfriend. The party takes a turn when the ticking time bomb in Laura finally explodes.

Director’s Statement: Hi! My name is Alejandro Barrera and I am the writer and director of Princess Party Pandemonium, and this will be my second project at Texas State. This script has a special place in my heart, I closely relate it to my own family, and especially my mother. This script is ultimately an extension of myself and everything I want to say about the human experience. Every character in this story is special to me because they are all me in one way or another. As a boy growing up in a Mexican household with the lifelong dream of creating movies, I feel that everything I have done up to this point has been practice for this thesis film, and I am thrilled that this will be the last film I premiere before graduating college at Texas State University. I simply cannot wait for you guys to see this project come to life as I have imagined it.

Producer’s statement: Hello! My name is Madison Dulworth and I am the producer for this incredible project. Alex reached out to me with the script and after reading it, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. This story is special to me because in life you can never tell what is going on behind closed doors and can’t ever really tell when someone is struggling. No matter what is said, it should always be kind and lift someone up instead of tearing them down. Laura is an incredibly relatable character for her determination and perseverance despite everything else and I think this story will inspire many people. As a senior in film school, I am so excited for what’s to come in the future and can’t wait to start it with this project.

Princess Party Pandemonium will be Alex and Madison’s second project together, after working on Daydreaming in Fall of 2023. They are eager to test their limits in their final project for the Texas State Film Program as they will both be graduating in December 2024. A thesis film encompasses everything you have learned in film school and allows you to put that knowledge, skill, and experience to good use in preparation for the future. Donating will be much beneficial in the upkeep of this film’s production value and will not only push the director and producer but also the cast and crew forward and create this amazing dramatic comedy, Princess Party pandemonium.
